Beef Chow Mein - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 lb. ground beef
    4 tsp. fat
    4 Tbsp. onions, chopped fine
    1 1/3 c. celery, thinly sliced
    1 1/3 c. Chinese vegetables
    2 c. hot water
    1 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. cornstarch
    1 c. cold water
    4 Tbsp. soy sauce
    2 c. rice, cooked
Preparation
    Brown meat; drain off fat.
    Measure fat into pan; brown onion. Add celery, Chinese vegetables, hot water, salt and soy sauce. Simmer 15 to 20 minutes.
    Combine cornstarch with cold water; add to mixture.
    Cook until thickened, stirring continuously.
    Serve 3/4 cup over 1/2 cup rice per serving.
    Yield: 4 servings. Carbohydrate 39 g, protein 18 g, fat 12 g, calories 336.
    One serving = 2 meat medium fat exchange, 2 bread starch exchange, 1 fruit exchange.
