Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. water
    1 c. salt
    1 small garlic
    2 Tbsp. powdered alum
    1 grape leaf (to a jar)
    1 qt. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 red hot pepper
    1/2 pack cucumbers
Preparation
    Soak pickles in powdered alum and water for 2 to 3 hours. Boil remaining ingredients (except grape leaves) for 5 minutes. Pour over pickles.
    Place 1 grape leaf over pickles.
