German Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 6 large firm potatoes, diced
    5 to 6 large carrots, sliced
    5 short celery stalks, diced
    1 small onion, diced
Preparation
    Put all ingredients in pot.
    Fill with cold water to cover. Keep water level covering vegetables until about 10 to 15 minutes before being done.
    Continue cooking with water at 3/4 level.
    Add salt to taste.
    Add beef bouillon cubes to taste.
    Cook at medium heat (do not boil) for 45 minutes or until done.
    Mash with hand potato masher until just slightly lumpy.
    Goes well with cornbread.
