Frijoles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dried pinto beans
    4 slices salt pork, diced
    1 clove garlic
    water to cover beans 1 1/2 inches
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Clean beans and rinse thoroughly.
    Soak overnight in water or soak in hot water for 3 hours.
    Put all ingredients in kettle and cover.
    Cook over low heat until beans are tender, about 3 hours. Stir beans occasionally.
    For thicker beans, cook with cover off the last half hour.
