Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small onion, chopped
    4 slices bacon, chopped
    2 (8 oz.) cans minced clams, undrained
    4 medium potatoes, finely diced
    2 stalks celery, cut up
    1 carrot, chopped
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    4 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. butter or oleo
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Cook bacon and drain.
    Add onion and saute.
    In kettle, put clams,
    potatoes,
    celery, carrots and seasoning.
    Simmer until tender.
    Dissolve
    cornstarch
    in
    a little milk; add to clam mixture until thick.
    Add
    remaining milk.\tCook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened again.\tDo not boil. Add bacon, onion and oleo.
