Grandmas Molasses Creams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1/2 c. molasses
    2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. hot water
    1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in the 1/2 c. hot water
Preparation
    Add baking soda last.
    Cream sugar, shortening and egg.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Drop by tablespoon on greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
