Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. flour
    3 Tbsp. oil
    3 to 4 lb. stew meat (beef or deer)
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
    4 carrots, sliced
Preparation
    Brown flour in oil, stirring to make a smooth paste.
    Add meat, salt, pepper, water and tomato sauce.
    Simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
    Add vegetables and simmer until tender.
    This cooks well in a crock-pot.
