Oatmeal Muffins - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. oatmeal or oat bran
1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Soak oatmeal in buttermilk or sour milk for 1 hour.
Mix shortening, brown sugar and egg together.
Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together.
Stir mixtures into oatmeal and buttermilk.
Put into muffin tins.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
Good with a casserole and a salad.
