Never Fail Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. evaporated Pet or Carnation milk
    12 regular size marshmallows
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix sugar, milk, marshmallows, butter and salt in a heavy 2-quart saucepan.
    Cook, stirring constantly over medium heat to a boil (mixture will be bubbling all over top).
    When mixture first begins to boil set timer and continue to cook, stirring constantly for 5 more minutes.
    Take off heat.
    Stir in semi-sweet chocolate until completely melted.
    Stir in nuts and vanilla.
    Spread in a slightly buttered tray.
    Cut into 30 pieces.
