Caramel Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. butter
    1/4 c. corn syrup
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 qt. unsalted popcorn
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients except corn in saucepan; bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove mixture from heat; pour over popcorn (in roaster pan) and mix well.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 1 hour, checking and stirring every 15 minutes.
    Remove from oven; stir immediately.
    Stir occasionally while mixture cools.
    Store in airtight container.
    Yields 2 quarts.
