Grapenut Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk, scalded
    1/2 c. Grapenuts
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 Tbsp. melted shortening
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 300\u00b0.
    Pour scalded milk over Grapenuts; let set for 10 minutes in a warm place.
    Beat egg and sugar together. Stir into cooled Grapenuts mixture.
    Add salt, vanilla and melted shortening.
    Bake in a slow 300\u00b0 oven for about 40 to 45 minutes.
