Cream Cheese Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Cream shortening and cream cheese.
    Add sugar and beat until smooth.
    Sift flour, salt and soda.
    Add egg, vanilla and dry ingredients to creamed mixture.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Roll in balls. Flatten with fork on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Sprinkle with sugar. Bake until slightly browned.
    (Works well in a cookie press also.)
