Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. blackberry jam
    1 c. sugar
    4 eggs, beaten separately
    1 3/4 c. plain flour
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan. Combine with butter and sugar; beat until creamy.
    Add jam and beaten egg yolks.
    Sift dry ingredients together and add to mixture alternately with buttermilk.
    Beat as little as possible. Fold in beaten egg whites.
    Cook about 30 minutes or until it tests done with a toothpick.
