Pickled Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    water
    sugar
    vinegar
    beets
Preparation
    Make solution of equal parts of water, sugar and vinegar. Bring to a boil.
    Using small beets makes a better pickle.
    Wash and trim stems to about 1 1/2 to 2 inches.
    Cook in a large pot until tender.
    Cool and slip off skins and tops.
    Rinse just slightly and pack into hot jars.
    Pour hot vinegar solution to within 1/2 inch of top of jar.
    Put into boiling water bath for 5 minutes.
    The jars should seal.
