Western Bean Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef or chuck
    2 Tbsp. butter or fat
    1 pkg. onion soup mix or 1 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. water
    1 c. catsup
    2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 tsp. prepared smoke flavoring (optional)
    2 medium cans pork and beans
    bacon strips
Preparation
    Brown meat in skillet in butter.
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
    Garlic powder and spoonful of brown sugar may be added, if desired.
    Pour into 2-quart casserole.
    Garnish with bacon strips.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
    Crisp bacon under broiler.
    Yield: 8 to 10 servings.
