Tea Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 c. shortening
    2/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift together the first 4 ingredients.
    Cut in shortening until mixture is like coarse crumbs.
    Add milk all at once.
    Stir with fork to ball stage. Knead lightly, about 10 times. Roll or pat dough 1/2 to 1-inch thick. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 450\u00b0. Makes 16 medium biscuits.
