Cabbage Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head cabbage, shredded
    1 tsp. salt
    1 chopped green pepper (optional)
    1 shredded carrot (optional)
    1 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. water
    1/2 to 1 tsp. mustard seed
    1/2 to 1 tsp. celery seed
    2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Add salt to cabbage; let set 1 hour.
    Squeeze out.
    Combine remaining ingredients; boil for 1 minute.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Pour over vegetables.
    Stir and refrigerate.
    (May also be frozen.)
