Kugelis(Grated Potato Casserole) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. Idaho or russet potatoes
    6 strips bacon
    1 stick margarine
    1 small onion, grated
    4 medium eggs
    1 tsp. salt
    1 small can Carnation milk
Preparation
    Cut bacon into small pieces.
    Crisp it in frying pan.
    Add grated onion to fat and saute.
    Then add margarine and melt. Should make 1 cup fat all together.
    Beat eggs slightly.
    Leave grating of potatoes for last so they won't get too dark.
    Grate potatoes and remove as much water as you can from them. They should be on the dry side.
    Add the cup of fat with onion and bacon, slightly beaten eggs, salt and Carnation milk.
    Mix it. Bake in a 400\u00b0 preheated oven for 1/2 hour.
    Reduce heat to 350\u00b0. Continue to bake for an hour or more. Should be nicely browned on top.
