Chocolate Pie - cooking recipe

1 sq. semi-sweet baking chocolate
2 Tbsp. butter
1/3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. milk, scalded
3/4 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs, separated
1/3 c. sugar
1 baked 8-inch pie shell
Preparation

Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler.
Mix the flour, sugar and salt; stir into chocolate.
Add the milk slowly, stirring constantly, until fully thickened, about 15 minutes. Beat the egg yolks well.
Stir in a little of the chocolate into the eggs; then return to the hot mixture and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and cool partially.
Stir in vanilla.
Pour into pie shell.
Beat egg whites until soft peaks form; then add 1/3 cup sugar until stiff.
Swirl the meringue over the pie.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 5 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
