Pineapple Sticky Cake(Our Family Birthday Cake.) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar (2/3 c.)
1/2 c. butter (1 1/2 inches)
4 pineapple slices
1 c. white sugar
1 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 Tbsp. water
1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 egg yolks
2 eggs whites, beaten stiff
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Melt together brown sugar and butter in 8-inch round iron skillet.
Do not brown.
Place 4 pineapple slices in pan (I use as many pineapple as I can fit in). In different bowl, place white sugar, flour and baking powder.
Mix together in measuring cup the water, cornstarch and egg yolks.
Add cornstarch mixture to batter.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla.
Pour over sugar and butter mixture.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
Remove from pan at once.
