Orange-Cranberry Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg (unbeaten)
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped cranberries
2 c. flour
2 Tbsp. butter or shortening
juice and grated rind of 1 orange
1/2 c. chopped pecans (optional)
Preparation

Mix dry ingredients together.
Put juice and orange rind in measuring cup.
Add butter or shortening, then fill cup to 3/4 mark with boiling water.
Add to dry mixture.
Add unbeaten egg, cranberries and chopped nuts.
Bake in a greased pan for 1 hour. Let stand 24 hours before slicing.
