Hekka(Sukiyaki) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 1/2 to 3 lb. frying chicken
    3 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 medium, round onions *
    1 (No. 2 size) can bamboo shoots, cut diagonally into slices about 1/4 inch thick
    1 c. green onions, cut in 1 1/2-inch lengths
    1 (8 oz.) can mushrooms, sliced
    1 c. sliced elephant ear or kikurage, dried ear soaked in lukewarm water about 20 minutes and sliced
    1 bundle long rice **
Preparation
    *Grate 1/2 of an onion to be added to shoyu; cut rest of onion into slices.
