Herbed Tomato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sliced onion
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 c. chopped tomatoes
    1 1/2 c. chicken broth
    1 (8 oz.) tomato sauce
    1/2 Tbsp. dried basil
    1/4 tsp. dried thyme
    dash of pepper
Preparation
    Cook onion and butter until tender.
    Add tomatoes, broth, tomato sauce, basil, thyme and pepper.
    Bring to a boil and reduce heat.
    Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
    Cool slightly.
    Place 1/2 of mixture at a time in blender; blend until smooth.
    Return mixture to saucepan and heat thoroughly.
    Garnish with lemon slices.
