Crunchy Peanut Butter Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. chunky peanut butter
    1 egg
    1 1/4 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream shortening, sugar, brown sugar and peanut butter in bowl until light and fluffy.
    Add egg; mix well.
    Stir in mixture of flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
    Chill, covered, for several hours.
    Roll into large balls.
    Place 3 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.
    Flatten in crisscross pattern with fork dipped in additional flour.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until set, but not hard.
    Remove to wire rack to cool.

    36 servings.
