Janean'S Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans minced clams, reserve the juice
    2 c. diced potatoes
    1 qt. half and half
    1 chopped onion
    1 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced and fried
    5 strips bacon
Preparation
    In saucepan add clam juice and enough water to cook potatoes in.
    Cook until tender.
    Fry bacon until crisp.
    Set aside.
    In the fat, fry onions.
    Set aside and fry mushrooms.
    Add all ingredients together except clams and bring just to boil, then add a flour thickener (flour and water).
    Now add clams and cook 8 to 10 minutes.
    Do not overcook clams.
    Also be sure to stir often so as not to burn.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
