Elegant Champagne Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large bottle champagne
    1 (13 1/2 oz.) can frozen pineapple chunks
    1/2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. fresh lemon juice
    1/4 c. syrup from maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients except champagne and let stand in refrigerator until pineapple is thawed.
    Just before serving, add well-chilled champagne.
    Mix lightly and serve immediately.
    Makes about 15 servings.
