Marble Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. Snowdrift shortening
    6 eggs
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 (5 1/2 oz.) can chocolate syrup
    3 c. sugar
    3 c. sifted cake flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream together\tshortening
    and
    sugar;
    add 1 egg at a time, beating
    well
    after
    each\taddition.
    Sift together dry ingredients;
    add
    alternately
    with
    buttermilk.
    Add vanilla and blend
    well.
    Pour half the batter into a well-greased and floured 10-inch
    tube
    pan;
    add
    chocolate syrup to remaining batter. Mix;
    pour chocolate mixture over top of other batter and fold
    in gently
    with spatula for marble effect.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
    Cool and frost as desired.
