Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 sticks margarine
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda, dissolved in buttermilk
3 1/2 c. plain flour
1 box chopped dates
1 lb. orange slice candy, cut into small pieces
1 c. coconut
2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. orange juice
Preparation

Cream margarine and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Add flour alternately with milk.
Roll nuts, candy and dates in flour. Add coconut, then add it all to the batter.
Cook in tube pan at 250\u00b0 for 2 1/2 hours.
Put 1 cup fresh orange juice on low heat; pour over cake as soon as it is removed from the oven.
Let stand in pan overnight or for several hours.
