Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 stick margarine (1/2 c.)
1/2 c. shortening
5 egg yolks (save whites)
1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 c. buttermilk
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts
1 can Angel Flake coconut
5 egg whites
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Cream sugar, margarine, shortening, egg yolks and soda (dissolved in buttermilk).
Add flour, vanilla, nuts and coconut.
Mix thoroughly.
Fold in egg whites with wire beater gently.
Bake approximately 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Cool before adding icing.
