Chicken Cacciatore - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 medium onions, thinly sliced
    2 1/2 to 3 lb. cut up broiler-fryer chicken
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 lb. can tomatoes
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 tsp. oregano leaves, crushed
    1/2 tsp. basil, crushed
    1/2 tsp. celery seed (optional)
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 c. dry white wine
Preparation
    Place sliced onions in bottom of crock-pot.
    Add chicken pieces, minced garlic, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, herbs and white wine.
    Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high 2 1/4 to 4 hours.
    Serve chicken pieces with sauce over hot buttered spaghetti or noodles.
