Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers
    2 c. lime
    2 gal. water
    2 qt. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    4 1/2 lb. sugar
    pickling spice
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers.
    Cover 1/4-inch with a solution of lime in water for 24 hours.
    Rinse cucumbers well and cover with fresh water for 3 hours.
    Drain and cover with vinegar, salt, sugar and pickling spice.
    Soak overnight.
    Then boil 40 minutes and pack and seal in jars.
