Baked Stuffed Apples - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 large baking apples
1/2 c. raisins or chopped dates
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
1 c. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Core apples, then peel 1/2 way down from the top.
Place in a baking dish and fill centers with mixture of nuts, raisins or dates.
In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar and spices. Bring to a boil while stirring, then simmer 8 to 10 minutes.
Pour over apples, then bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
Baste apples with the syrup 3 or 4 times during baking.
Makes six servings.
