Gingersnap Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. sugar
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. molasses
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Grease a 15 x 10-inch jelly roll pan.
    In large saucepan, melt shortening.
    Cool 5 minutes.
    Add remaining ingredients, except 2 tablespoons sugar; mix well.
    Press in bottom of prepared pan.
    Sprinkle with remaining sugar.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Do not overbake.
    Let stand 5 minutes.
    Cut into bars.
    Cool completely.
    Makes 48 bars.
