Christmas Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. cream
    1/3 c. white corn syrup
    1/3 c. butter
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. candied red cherries
    1/2 c. candied green pineapple, diced
    1 c. walnuts, broken
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Combine sugar, cream, corn syrup, butter and salt.
    Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
    Cover and boil 1 minute.
    Uncover.
    Cook at medium, steady boil to soft ball stage in cold water.
    Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla.
    Beat with electric mixer on medium speed until mixture is creamy and begins to hold its shape, about 10 minutes.
    Mix in fruits and nuts. Pour into greased pan.
    When firm, cut into squares.
    Let stand 24 hours.
