Coconut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. shortening
    3/4 c. milk
    3 unbeaten egg whites (for yellow use 3 whole eggs instead of whites)
    fresh or frozen coconut
Preparation
    Can use this batter or use any brand cake mix.
