Smoky Bacon Burgers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 egg
    1/2 c. finely chopped onion
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1/2 to 1 tsp. liquid smoke flavoring
    4 slices bacon
    4 lettuce leaves
    4 tomato slices
    4 toasted hamburger buns
Preparation
    Combine beef, egg, onion, salt, black pepper and liquid smoke, blending well.
    Divide into quarters.
    Shape into patty.
    Wrap a strip of bacon around each patty.
    Hold with a toothpick.
    Place burgers on oiled broiler rack.
    Broil 5 to 6 inches from source of heat for 5 to 8 minutes on each side or until meat is done. Prepare as regular burgers.
