Peggy'S Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    head of lettuce, broken into pieces
    1 can water chestnuts, chopped
    1/2 cup, chopped celery
    1/2 cup chopped green peppers
    1/2 cup chopped green onions
    1 package frozen peas, cooked and drained
    1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 oz. grated cheese
    1/2 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
Preparation
    Layer first 6 ingredients in order given. Mix the mayonnaise, and sugar. Spread on top of layered salad. Sprinkle grated cheese and crumbled bacon on top.
