Swiss Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    round steak (2 inches thick)
    bacon dripping or Crisco
    1 onion, cubed
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
    2 Tbsp. flour
Preparation
    Pound flour into steak. Melt fat in skillet and sear steak on both sides. Remove steak to large casserole or roaster.
    There should be at least 2 tablespoons fat remaining in the skillet. To this add the flour and blend; stir in tomatoes, seasonings and onion. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Pour over steak; cover roaster and bake in 350\u00b0 oven until tender, about 3 hours.
