Fluffy White Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. milk
    1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Place flour in a small saucepan.
    Gradually stir in milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
    Remove from heat.
    Cool, stirring occasionally.
    Cream butter and shortening.
    Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add salt, vanilla and flour mixture.
    Beat until smooth.
    Yield: about 4 cups.
