Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. molasses
3/4 c. raisins
7 Tbsp. cold water
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour (approximately)
Preparation

Mix in order given.
Add flour until able to hand make small balls.
Flatten with fork.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes.
