Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. light molasses
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. boiling water
Preparation

Stir shortening to soften.
Gradually add sugar, creaming until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and molasses, beat thoroughly. Sift together dry ingredients, add to molasses mixture alternately with boiling water, beating after each addition.
Bake in well-greased pan; in moderate oven (350\u00b0) about 35 to 40 minutes or until done.
Serve warm.
