Mike'S Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. white Karo
    1/2 c. water
    2 1/2 Tbsp. butter
    2 c. raw peanuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cook sugar, Karo and water in big kettle until it reaches crack stage, 275\u00b0 on a candy thermometer.
    Add peanuts, stirring until it reaches 300\u00b0.
    Remove from fire and add vanilla, soda and butter. Stir until butter melts.
    Pour out on 2 1/2 feet of foil that has been buttered thoroughly, stretching candy to desired thickness as it cools.
    When cool, break in pieces and store in airtight container.
