Irma Brown'S White Fruitcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. (2 sticks) butter
    1 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 lb. candied cherries
    1 lb. candied pineapple
    4 c. chopped pecans
    2 Tbsp. vanilla extract
    2 tbsp. lemon extract
Preparation
    Cream butter well. Add sugar and cream until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Chop fruits and nuts and mix with a small amount of flour.
    Sift remaining flour and stir into creamed mixture with salt. Add flavorings.
    Bake in tube pan or two loaf pans.
    Put in a cold oven and bake at 250\u00b0 for 3 hours.
    This recipe will make a 5 pound cake.
