Caramel Filled Brownies - cooking recipe

14 oz. caramels
1/2 c. evaporated milk
6 or 12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
1 German chocolate cake mix
3/4 c. melted oleo
1/3 c. evaporated milk
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Melt caramels and 1/2 cup evaporated milk over low heat.
Mix together the cake mix, oleo and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
Pat 1/2 of chocolate mixture into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake 6 or 7 minutes.
Remove from oven and pour melted caramel over chocolate mixture.
Sprinkle chocolate chips over caramel.
Pat remaining chocolate mixture over caramel and chips. Bake 15 to 20 minutes more.
Refrigerate after cooling before cutting.
