Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 (1 oz.) bottles red food coloring
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. soda
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    3/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening until fluffy; add eggs and beat one minute.
    Put cocoa and food coloring in a cup and make a paste; add to shortening mixture.
    Add salt to buttermilk and add with flour to the other mixture.
    Mix well after each addition.
    Fold in vinegar and soda; mix.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes in 9-inch pans.
