Taco Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
    1 tsp. sugar
    3/4 tsp. dried oregano, crushed
    1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 c. chopped green pepper
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. bottled hot pepper sauce
    1 lb. lean ground beef (I used ground round)
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    6 c. (9 1/2 oz. pkg.) corn chips, coarsely crushed
    5 slices processed cheese or approximately 1/2 lb. Velveeta, sliced or shredded
    2 c. shredded lettuce
Preparation
    In medium skillet, cook meat until browned, stirring to break up large pieces.
    Drain excess fat.
    Sprinkle with garlic.
    Place crushed chips in bottom of 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.
    Spoon hot meat over chips.
    Spread 3/4 to 1 cup of sauce over meat.
    Top with cheese.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes until heated and cheese is melted.
    Top with lettuce and sauce.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
