Groton(French Meat Spread) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ground pork butt
1 medium onion
1 medium potato
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 tsp. allspice
Preparation

Wet saucepan and pour out all water.
Add pork; cover and cook on medium-high heat.
Chop onion and add to pork; stir and cover. Cut potato in half; add to pan.
Cover with pork.
Bring to steam and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
Take out potato and mash (no milk). Add potato, salt and pepper to taste and allspice to meat and stir well.
Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
Turn off heat and let stand for 1/2 hour.
Pour in dish.
Cover and refrigerate.
Delicious spread on bread or crackers.
