German Skillet Dinner - cooking recipe

1 Tbsp. margarine
1 (16 oz.) can sauerkraut
1/2 c. rice
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
8 oz. tomato sauce
seasoned salt (optional)
garlic powder (optional)
Preparation

Melt margarine in skillet, partially drain sauerkraut and add to skillet; sprinkle with rice and onion.
Top with crumbled ground beef.
Spread salt, pepper and tomato sauce evenly on top to cover hamburger.
Cover skillet, cook over low heat 25 to 30 minutes. You may use sausage as a substitute and adjust added salt.
Layer each section to cover skillet bottom.
