Baked Stew(I Call This "Fake" Sirloin Tips) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. stew beef (chuck), cut in \"sirloin tips\" size
    1 can Campbell's beef consomme
    1 (12 or 15 oz.) can V-8 juice
    1 c. Burgundy wine (I use the cooking type)
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 pkg. onion soup mix
    1 jar whole boiled onions, drained
    1 can chopped mushrooms, drained
    either cooked noodles or rice
Preparation
    Bake, uncovered, 3 1/2 hours at 300\u00b0.
    May thicken with a little flour, if needed, before serving over a bed of rice or noodles.
    Freezes well.
