Orange Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 pkg. chopped dates or 2 c. raisins
    2 c. pecans
    4 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. grated orange peel
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add eggs.
    Add buttermilk and dry ingredients alternately, then add raisins and nuts (sprinkle raisins and nuts with flour).
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 to 1 1/2 hours in Bundt pan or angel food cake pan.
    Put topping on cake while cake is hot.
    Punch holes in cake and spoon topping on.
